Ski & Board at Happo One


Happo One ski resort, host to the 1998 Olympic downhill slalom and ski jumping, is set amongst the spectacular Northern Japan Alps and spreads out along the mountains ridge leading down from Mt Karamatsu. With a vertical drop of 3,510ft and a total of 31 lifts, Happo One is one of the largest and most famous ski resorts in Japan.

From the complete novice to the expert skier, Happo One provides some of the best skiing & boarding in all of Japan. It offers everything from gentle beginner slopes, to bumps and long cruising trails, and from top to bottom it can be sheer thigh-burning hell. Due to its altitude, Happo boasts breathtaking scenery, a dry climate and an annual snowfall of over 400 inches each season, enabling Pinnacle students to experience some of the best powder conditions in the world.

Wild Monkey Hotsprings

Wild monkey hotspringsThe world famous Jigokudani wild monkey hot-springs is home to about 200 wild monkeys who spend their days soaking in the natural hot springs, keeping warm during the winter months. The park was opened in 1964 and is considered to be one of the only places in the world to see snow monkeys bathing in the wild.
